in the red corner: old facebook. in the blue corner: new facebook. GAME ON!

So I am a huge fan of Techcrunch, Masable! and Apple Hot News for all my social media updates and recently there has been a fair amount of coverage on the new facebook profile. by the look of these graphs, some users like it, some don't, and some test out the new profile for a while before returning to the old.

"out with the old, in with the new" ( ... not so much.)

so why are people sticking with the old facebook instead of converting to the new one? Familiarity, perhaps. Many users fear change and like the simplicity and the clean cut layout of the old page (even though, in reality, the new facebook is even easier to use.) The only real drawback of the new profile page is that, with the introduction of the tabs feature, it involves a lot more clicking around (as opposed to the old facebook, where all of the personal information is stored on one page).
as much as the new facebook profile is growing on me, I find myself returning to the old one to check out applications, my wall, my bumper stickers, and my groups. Sorry new Faceook, you have yet to charm me and win me over.
you could start by buying me dinner.
... maybe pay my rent, too.
